I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that. -- Lloyd Dobler
The rescue of a ship captain from Somali pirates Sunday night was largely viewed as a foreign policy victory for President Obama. But Rush Limbaugh saw something different. The talk show has quickly capitalized on the hostage crisis as a new line of attack on domestic liberals.
Sadly and tragically, I feel this vitriolic, racist, homophobic, drug-addled hate-bag would not have grieved one iota if that brave captain had been killed. He would have wasted no time trying to spin & turn the tragedy to his own ideological advantage in his wish for Obama "to fail." Next scandal: Why Won't The White House Release Bo the Dog's Birth Certificate?
Honestly, why do people listen to his hateful, soul damaging words?
I ordered it for my self-actualized Princess from ThinkGeek. (My favorite Internet shopping site!) It's more Buffy & Kim Possible than Buttercup or Snow White.

I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
Try to allow God's Light to shine through you and treat everyday as a Holy Day! Peace...
Jon Stewart took on people "speaking crazy to power" last night. Rep. Michele Bachmann recently said that President Obama is going to put our children in reeducation camps, and Sean Hannity congratulated her for her crusade against tyranny. Stewart followed this clip with a brilliant & cogent litany of moves the Bush administration made to reduce American freedoms, transparency, and state's rights, and said the pair were confusing "tyranny" with "losing." Yes, crazy right-wingnuts, I've tasted that S**t Taco way too many times! It is bad, but it's democracy.

Indianapolis Museum of Art Director Maxwell Anderson’s recent lecture, Through the Looking Glass: Museums and Internet-Based Transparency is an important statement of the value of openness. Not simply a good talk, the IMA is actively walking the walk.
This is nothing more than a naked power grab by corpratists who use the conservative bent of their districts to push through legislation on behalf of lobbyists and control campaign cash, and become the arbiters of any law that gets through Congress.

Forty-one years ago today, April 4, 1968, Bobby Kennedy, on a campaign stop in the inner-city of Indianapolis, Indiana told a mostly African-American crowd of Martin Luther King's Jr's death & helped ease one city's pain.
